THE OFFICIAL CELEBRATION!
What is turning 1 without a good party right?! Plus after putting on a happy face through all the pictures in the last post, I think Peanut deserved a fantastic celebration. ONE. WHOLE. YEAR. crazy. It seems more like its just been a few months since E arrived into the world--not a whole 365 days. 1 year.. thats a long time for such a little girl. In 1 year E has traveled to 5 national parks, been dipped into several glacial lakes, celebrated an entire years worth of holidays, overcome a 4 day hospital stay with salmonella poisoning, lived in 2 states, driven through a dozen more, flown to Virginia, been to her first wedding, dipped her feet in the ocean, played in the snow, taken several camping trips, has been to cinderella's castle, and has been loved on by more friends and family than we ever thought possible! This little girl has brought a smile to everyone she comes in contact with and continues to amaze us each and every day.
I would say her first birthday was definitely a success! Lots of friends and family came in from all over to help celebrate and hang out for the weekend and it was TONS of fun! Sunday morning began food prep--John had a pizza and corn bar among several other things on the menu for the afternoon. That meant LOTS of dough needed to be made and LOTS of corn needed to be shucked! So, it was a good thing we had some helpers! In fact, I think John owes a few people for helping him cook and prep ;) and of course, the food was amazing. The fire cooked pizzas were incredible!

| The two best friends a girl could have! It was so great to have them here! |
| C was John's primary helper. She helped make most of the dough and shucked lots of corn! |
| She also helped with E. Like in this picture when peanut fell out of her chair! |

| Setting up for the party |
| I am so happy with how the cake turned out. It was AMAZINGLY tasty as well! |
| We made homemade raspberry lemonade! It made quite the mess in the kitchen though. |
| Time for Peanut to smash some more cake! |
| Cutting the cake with my new fancy cake cutter! |
| MMM cake! |
| Opening some of her presents! |
| I made this as part of the decorations. It is pictures from just born to her cake smash session at 12 months last week! It was so neat to compare all the monthly pictures side by side. |
| Peanut now has SIX teeth.. so naturally she was a little fussy from teething and extreme georgia heat! So, we gave her some cold corn and she LOVED it. She also loves to be wearing just her diaper. haha |
| Tired girl! She was so tired from all of the excitement and from so much love from all her aunties, uncles, grammies, grampies and friends! |
| I found these shoes to match the dress I made! They were perfect and though they did not stay on her feet very long, they made for cute pictures! |

The dress!! Remember the one I was talking about making in another post?! Well, here it is! Completed with minnie mouse there in the bottom right corner. So proud of how this turned out as well! I will definitely be making more pillow case dresses for her this summer.
So, there you have it! Peanut's first birthday celebration. It was a wonderful weekend! Even the weather was gorgeous! It was definitely a little hot, but the rain held off and the sun stayed shining, so we will take it! E loved all of her presents from everyone. She got lots of toys with balls and she has not stopped chasing them around the apartment since! She also got some super cute clothes and some cute summer sandals. (pictures to follow soon!) She also got bath toys, pajamas straight from Norway, some really awesome books and even a gift card to Target for later shopping dates with momma!
Thank you so much to everyone who came out to celebrate! It meant so much to have you there and we appreciate the long drives and the long flights.. and for putting up with hot and sticky Georgia! Last year at this time we never could have imagined how much love and support our little family of 3 would get! Love to you all!
E has finally caught up on sleep and she's ready for another adventure
--'till next time! |
